FAQ

Questions people ask first

Short, checkable answers. If something here reads out of date, the yellow paper is the source of record.

Is anything live on chain?
Not yet. The contracts are not deployed. The app lets you sign in, price jobs and sign EIP-712 intents, which are stored in your browser. Nothing is charged and nothing is sent to a server.
Can the GPU owner see my data?
In mode A, no. Data is decrypted only inside an enclave whose code measurement you approved. In mode R the machines do see the input, which is why mode R is for non-sensitive work. When you mark a job confidential, the app only allows mode A.
Why Robinhood Chain?
It is an EVM chain built on Arbitrum Nitro, so standard wallets and tooling work and settlement fees stay small relative to a job. The chain is a setting in the app, not a hard dependency of the protocol.
Is there a token?
The TasQ token is not part of the protocol. Prices, escrow and stake use non-transferable credits pegged to a US dollar reference, and contributor payouts settle in ETH. None of the security arguments depend on a token price. Section 9.6 of the yellow paper explains what the token funds.
Is it decentralised?
Not yet. In v1.0 the TasQ Project runs the coordinators, so you are trusting us to schedule fairly. What you do not have to trust us with is your data or the correctness of results, because both are checked by mechanisms you can verify. The paper sets out what changes after v1.0.
What does post-quantum mean here?
Anything that has to stay valid after settlement rests on hash-based or symmetric primitives: BLAKE3 commitments, AES-256-GCM payloads and zk-STARK proofs. Transport uses hybrid X25519 and ML-KEM-768 key exchange where both ends support it, so recorded traffic stays protected if either scheme holds. Node identities move to hybrid Ed25519 and ML-DSA-65 keys next. None of this involves quantum hardware.
How do I lend a GPU?
Open Lend in the app, describe your hardware and attestation support, and sign a registration. The page shows which modes your machine qualifies for and the onboarding checks it will need to pass. No stake is locked during the preview.
Where do the benchmark numbers come from?
From scripts you can run yourself, on a 2 vCPU Xeon. GPU and enclave figures are modelled from published overheads, and the nondeterminism test is a CPU analogue. Each benchmark page says which is which. Open the benchmarks.
